The Feisty Thirteen-Feisty Facts

1. The Feisty has a magic box (no innuendo-seriously. If you need a costume, a wig, anything-she will have something available. I never requested a passport or a half naked hunk but if I did-I bet it would be in there)

2. She is the only one I know besides my husband whose dinner conversation can leap from the philosophical to the shockingly perverse in a single breath. (a fact Cookie really digs about her btw)

3. She is stunningly sexy, you can't help but stare-no one can. Even more fascinating is the fact that you cant hold it against her cause she is too darn warm and friendly and amazing. grrr

4. In her presence you will do the strangest things. (I think she emits a risk-taking free spirit pheromone)

5. The Feisty style is Pin Up Glamour meets Femme Fatale meets Hot Biker Babe...and it totally works for her. (just like sweatpants and fuzzy socks work for me)

6. She has a mad crush on Jack Black, or it could be on the Devil from Jack's movie Pick of Destiny. I get confused.

7. According to my sources, The Feisty throws the most creative parties.

8. She loves the ocean.

9. She loves to cook.

10. She loves her friends and is one of the most supportive people on the planet.

11. If you go to a karaoke bar with her she will have you on the stage gyrating to I Touch Myself without being drunk or having any idea how you got there. (I think that goes with the free spirit pheromone)

12. The Feisty is a captivating author with a unique voice , a raw sensuality and humor that is riveting.

13. Her Jewel novella I Love Lacy, comes out tomorrow at Ellora's Cave. Don't Miss It!

I've one thing to say and that's-Damn it, Lacy-I love you!

Lacy: Your scent set my heart right to racin' (Mason)

And while all the bad guys we're chasin' (Mason)

I'm thrown by the facts that I'm facin' (Mason)

That you are my match and that Damn it, Mason-I love you

bridge: Because I am Aromatherapiannnnnn

My sense of smell says all I need to knoooooow

your handcuffs are the ones I want to be iiiiiiin

Oh M-A-S-O-N I love you so-oh-ohhhhhhh

Mason: I like that you're kinky and racy (Lacy)

though sometimes you seem outerspacey (Lacy)

I'll do my best just to keep pace-y (Lacy)

I just want to say I'm insane, Ms Kane, for you tooooooo

Lacy: Oh Mason

Mason: Oh hell!

Lacy: I'm ma-ad

Mason: I can tell

Lacy: For you

Mason: I love you toooooooooo.

Both:There's just one more thing left to do-o-oooo.

Contest Reminder
Song (Music of the Night)

To the—Warren—Callie knows she must go
To a world that changes all that she knows
She’ll have to be brief there, been sent to be a thief there

Wandering, wishing through eternal hours
Who’s this wizard, if he has no powers?
One touch will reveal, all this girl can make Raine feel
And there’s no way that he’ll ever let her go
She was given to him by the binding stone

Read this book and surrender
To a strange new world
Where there’s magic and mystery everywheeeeeeeeere
Only true love can put an end to grieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeef
And its love that will bind the Wizard’s Thief.

Poetry Monday-My first release

Okay-we are down to the wire. 4 more days until the release of my novella for the Jewels series at Ellora's Cave. Who Wants to Date a Superhero?
That also means that the contest is still rolling. Somewhere on my website on Monday there will be an amethyst with a very distinctive shape. Find it-along with Red Garniers-and get ready for the next two weeks-when Christine d'Abo and Lillian Feisty will have theirs up as well.

Back to the poetry. I am sticking with my theme this month. Book reviews set to musicals. :) I'm sharing a little bit about mine to an interesting cult musical-The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The Song is Rose Tint My World. Enjoy!
OH-And I'm also over at Killer Fiction blog today! Come see me!!

It was great when it all began,
Cassie Tidwell thought she had a plan
And though she’d never been a true blue fan,
she’d be competing for a super man
On a reality t.v. show,
though in her heart she loved an Average Joe

Fighting for a date with the spandex wearing Theta Wave.

Well he had liked her from the day they met,
hesitation was his one regret
Now it was too late cause he’d hedged his bets,
and she was heading for the game show set.
Graham had to wonder what her reasons were,
and why he couldn’t take his eyes from her.

Though she was fighting for a date with the spandex wearing Theta Wave.

Competition, humiliation…she would never do this, if she had a chooooooooice.
But whats this? Lets see. Theta’s sexy. Wait how can this be? How can she love two men?

Whoooa, Cassie’s so hot. But he smells a plot Uh huh, his super skills say she’s caught
In some evil villain’s snaaaaaaare.

Well, you may wonder who will win the show.
And which man Cassie wants to be her beau.
And if the Syndicate of Villainy,
has an evil plan that we can’t see.
If your curiosity has grown,
then this Friday it is yours to own
If you want to know the answer to
Who Wants to Date a Superhero?

Interview with Red Garnier

Today I am so excited to welcome Red Garnier! She has some amazing releases out with Ellora’s Cave and Loose Id-and readers and writers alike are singing her praises—if you’ve read her you’ll understand why.

Red, thank you for taking the time to talk to us. You have an upcoming Amethyst release for EC’s Jewels of the Nile series. Can you tell us a little bit about Amatista?

Amatista is a foray into a fantasy world, in a virgin planet, inhabited by a savage tribe known as the Fohers. The humans, as they are wont to do when they find new, untried lands, are tearing down trees to build their compounds, and are in search of the greatest treasure of them all. The river of amethysts, known as Amatista.

One woman has the map, a map only a Foher could read. This woman, Liana, will embark on a journey of self-discovery, while desire for Kavi, the Foher who’s captured, her grows deep. It isn’t an easy journey, but then the best never are.

You’ve mentioned that your book, Spin Devil, holds a special place in your heart as your first. Do you remember what you were doing when you got the call (email)?

I sure do, R.G. I was vacationing with my family, one day before New Year’s, and was ready to go to bed. So I check my email just one more time (I am an impulsive email-checker, as I’m sure you’ve noticed!) and see an email from my EC editor Kelli, saying she’d read Spin Devil, loved it, and wanted to buy it for her new Exotika line. Not only that, but I had already subbed the second book in the series, Spin it Again, and she had already read it loved it, too! I jumped up and down, woke my husband, didn’t get a wink of sleep, and the next day I was toasting to a New Year and my very first contract!

What is an average day like in the Red Garnier household?

Boring to everyone except me, I’m sure. I wake up the kids, dress them for school, wave them off, then cozy up to my coffee and start with the morning email check. I exercise after I post up a blog and answer emails, then get back to the computer to write for two or three hours. When the kids return from school, the afternoons belong to Red Garnier in her chauffer’s cap, driving around town with inspiring music and two disgruntled kids who want to listen to something other than romantic tunes. As soon as I get home I do yet another impulsive email check, bathe the kids, do the dinner thing, feed hubby (burp him, as he teasingly tells me) and THEN I grab the feather boa, the pink slippers, put the thinking cap on, and sit down to write. I love my evenings, when all is quiet and I can truly concentrate.

You know I have a hard time choosing favorites, but do you have a favorite hero from your books?

I have two. Sebastian from Spin Devil, an all time favorite of mine. He’s rough around the edges, with a broken heart inside. And Patrick Holden from Divine Assistant. He’s just arrogant and adorable. I am head over heels for both!

What is your process? Are you a plotter or what everyone lovingly refers to as a pantser?

I definitely fly by the seat of my pants. I start with characters, let them loose, and let them take it from there. They never fail to surprise me, and I never fail to be amused!

I was snooping on your website and noticed we share some first reads in common-Johanna Lindsey and Jude Deveraux. I’ll talk to you about Lindsey’s Futuristic Warrior series later . Who is your current favorite? Which author makes you drop everything and settle in for the duration—and why?

Oh R.G. don’t start on Johanna Lindsey or Jude Deveraux! I adore each and every book of theirs. I think my all time favorites will always be my all time favorites, but I have lots of new favorites. I love to read new authors, because I love not knowing what to expect, and I’m always pleasantly surprised by their talent. I love reading my author friend’s—they’re such a talented bunch! And aything from Brava will keep me reading until the wee hours of the night.

As writers I know we spend a lot of time at our computers. What is your favorite activity away from yours?

I love driving my car around when there’s not too much traffic. I love being outside—reading outside. Spending time with my hubby and kids, you can’t beat that. And of course movies. I love movies, romantic ones, of course.

Can you give us a sneak peek at what we can expect in 2008? Are there more Devilish Games in our future? Any works in progress you’re particularly excited about?

Yes, there probably will be more Devilish Games in the future, though I’m barely at the idea stage which might take a while. I’m excited about writing a full novel-length. I’ve got a rough idea, the characters seem ready to leap, so I’m going to roll up my sleeves pretty soon and get cranking. Hopefully it won’t be too hard!

Finally, what has been the most surprising aspect of your journey as a writer so far?

Oh, whew. It is hard work being a writer. Promoting your books, being professional in your dealings with editors, other writers, reviewers and readers (that means no foot stomping and no tantrums, of course!) When you have deadlines, you have to meet them. And every book sets a new standard for you, so keeping it up to that level is sometimes quite stressing (ask my therapist, lol!) But there is absolutely NOTHING I would change. I love every bitty part of it. Even a discouraging piece of news, a rejected submission, or a not so good review, has some positive learning experience to offer. I LOVE it!

Thank you so much! It has been such an honor to talk to you and I know I speak for-well-pretty much all of us when I say I hope you’ll be keeping us busy with wonderful reads for a long time to come! And I’ll be first in line for Amatista!

R.G. thank you so much, it’s been amazing to be here, with talented you! I hope to do this again sometime and thank you so much for having me.

Amatista is scheduled to be released tomorrow Feb 6th at Ellora's Cave. To see a full list of Red's releases go to www.redgarnier.com

POETRY MONDAY-Day 1 of the month that would be purple

Welcome to day one of my February celebration. If you missed the contest I and a few of my fellow EC authors are having this month-look down at my previous post-the prizes are pretty cool if I do say so myself.

This week Red Garnier, an amazingly talented erotic romance author-releases a novella for the Jewels series called Amatista. Luckily, I got to read this book. It was so good-I had to sing about it...and so do you. LOL

This review for Amatista is done in lyric form to the tune of Phantom of the Opera. Everybody sing...and then everybody go buy the book on Wednesday.

Liana sto-len from
The Earth she knew
Years spent in solitude, what could she do?
She dreamt of going home
Each day and niiight

The puuuuuulll of Amatista
Was too strong for her to fight.

Chained to the human’s wall
The Foher burned.
His trust and pride stripped bare
Hard lessons learned
He knew the only way
To save his kiiind

The puuuuull of Amatista
and the truth he sought to find

Her curiosity
His aching need
On a collision course
And once he’s freed
Her life will change again
Her spirit soooar

The puuuuuull of Amatista
Brought love’s magic to her door

Red Garnier wrote this tale
This carnal tome
A fiery love affair
A search for home
I loved it from page one
It was sheer bliss

The puuuuuuuull of Amatista
Is one you should not resist.
