Monday Poetry Train

EDITS

I am in a fog of She felts,
He felts
as theys
and he saids
slaughtering my comma habit
leaving bloody trails of red
It hits me as I'm slashing, tearing, ripping through my info dumps
That every writer come before me had to take their share of lumps
So we all leave fragments
all leave sonnets,
slip on purple prose.
And we all must question what was seen amidst
all those-Althoughs
But I love it-every minute
Love the process ground to sky
And I am my own worst critic
though I'll ne'er give up LY!

That was too funny, I won't give up my adverbs either. Or my adjectives. :)

Yes, we do, don't we? Love it. To be a writer more than a modicum of sadomasochism is a must. For, in purple prose we can not trust.

ah, that purple prose. it feels like the silkiest lingerie as it slides from beneath pen/cursor. but it's really polished polyester; snagged and nubby nylon; synthetic and worn to a sheen.

yet so necessary for without it we would have nothing to work the Alchemy of editing upon, transmuting nylon into silk and polyester in cashmere.

Its so difficult not to use LY. I love it, it doesn't love me. Carol

I'm with Guatami:
'So we all leave fragments
all leave sonnets,
slip on purple prose.'
My favorite lines - and Joy Renee you've really hit the mark in your comment! R.G., you've touched a raw place with all of us. You should submit it to Romance Writers Report.

ARGH I feel the pain!

This is a fantastic contribution to Monday Poetry Train. I'm sure each of us have felt some version of these emotions in our own writing. :)
