Man Language

My husband Cookie says that men have an interesting way of communicating beyond the usual grunts and shoulder punches. Its called Man Language.

Basically, its a barrage of quotes from guy flicks--usually Arnold films like Predator and Terminator--but with a some classics thrown in. The Dirty Dozen, Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns and the ever popular...Army of Darkness.

He says that a single phrase or Yeeeaayaa Arnold groan can say to another man what it might take hours to express to a woman. Men just get it.

Had a rough day at work? Want to punch your irritating boss?

"If it bleeds we can kill it." -Predator

the man will respond with an understanding quote from the same movie...its a complex process LOL

Splitting headache?

"Its not a tumor!" -Kindergarten Cop

Ready to take on the world? Feel like you've just done something cool?

"This...is my BOOM Stick!" -Army of Darkness

Its all very mysterious and fascinating. I'm planning on doing more research...but only if I'm not required to watch all the movies...some of them only a man could understand.

ROFL! When you start to know a guy you start to learn his "Man Language" triggers. "Upside down" (Major League 2) got me a laugh from my man and spared me a rant this weekend. *shrugs* Go figure.

LOL. My Man usually quotes movies like "Emperor of the North" and "Godfather" or "Good Fellas".
Of course, Michelle and I always quote romantic comedies.
"I know I know. He's never gonna leave her."
"It's pretty Sam."

You are telling me! My three brother talk to each other by saying minimum. They backslapped and I used go nuts figuring them out. Now I too started back slapping. I am enjoying it even if I don't understand half of what they say.

scientifically insane

My husband only quotes Monty Python and The Mighty Boosh (and lyrics to obscure songs).

I'm the Bruce Campbell fan in the family. Hail to the king, baby!

My brothers quote the Simpsons and the original Star Trek, which makes for some very odd conversations.
